ANDROMEDA
THE CHAINED PRINCESS
Look beyond Andromeda’s ancient stars and an entire universe seems to open. Named for the princess of Greek mythology, this northern constellation guards one of the night sky’s greatest treasures, the Andromeda Galaxy, our enormous galactic neighbor some 2.5 million light-years away. Yet its borders hold far more, from distant galaxies to glowing stellar remnants. What appears from Earth as a quiet pattern of stars is really a window into a staggering cosmic kingdom, where the darkness hides worlds of light.
